Discovering the Alps and Provence

Provence Alpes Agglomération is an exceptional territory in the heart of the Alpes de Haute-Provence département, bringing together 46 communes around the spa town of Digne-les-Bains. This nature destination oscillates between the hills and lavender fields of Haute-Provence, the lakes and gorges of the Verdon and the marmots, ibexes and Alpine peaks at altitudes of almost 3,000 m. All these natural riches are concentrated within a 30 km radius of the town of Digne-les-Bains. This unspoiled region has been classified as a UNESCO Geopark of Haute-Provence, boasts numerous Natura 2000 sites and includes part of the Verdon Regional Nature Park.

Here you'll find a wide range of 4-season outdoor activities on land (hiking, mountain biking, trail running, climbing, via ferrata, skiing, snowshoeing...), on water (water sports centers on the Durance and at Lac de Sainte-Croix) and in the air (paragliding and gliding spots).

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT

Le service Activités de pleine nature de Provence Alpes Agglomération est composé de 2 équipes de terrain qui interviennent pour l’aménagement et l’entretien des 300 itinéraires de randonnée du territoire. Les agents, passionnés et pratiquants de sports de nature, débroussaillent, sécurisent, balisent, piochent, créent des passerelles et autres ouvrages pour que les itinéraires que vous empruntez soient praticables toute l’année !

Une démarche éco-responsable  

Ces aménagements sont réalisés en utilisant des matières naturelles et locales. Dans les espaces naturels, les agents sont équipés de VTT pour les repérages et de machines électriques pour éviter les nuisances sonores. Les balises VTT et Trail sont durables et sans matière plastique. Les agents sont formés chaque année aux enjeux naturalistes et à la biodiversité. Un kit éco-évènement Outdoor est également mis à disposition des associations pour limiter les déchets et l’impact environnemental des manifestations.

Over 80 outdoor activities (hiking, trekking, mountain biking, paragliding, via ferrata, climbing, paddle, kayaking, slackline, yoga...), entertainment, shows, concerts...

A weekend for young and old, in the heart of the Alpes de Haute-Provence, combining outdoor sports, festivities and conviviality in an exceptional natural setting !
