From the Col du Fanget, you'll start by climbing up to the Plateau d'Iroire, so remember to save your energy as it's still quite a long way round. Continue up to the Col des Tomples, where a magnificent view awaits you, before descending to the Chabanon resort. The return to the Fanget site takes you through the forest to the Iroire plateau and back down to the hostel.
