The MTB “PROVENCE ALPES” area is one of the largest in France. You'll find 80 signposted routes in 4 sectors, with circuits to suit all riding styles: Randonnée, XC, All-Mountain, Enduro, e-MTB, Bike Park...
The site is renowned for the quality of its routes and has been awarded two labels by the French Cycling and Cyclotouring Federations.
The Haute-Provence XCO (Olympic Cross Country) Mountain Bike Stadium in Château-Arnoux was inaugurated to coincide with the 2024 Olympic Games.
Designed and built by Provence Alpes Agglomération in collaboration with former XCO mountain bike champion Stéphane TEMPIER, it is made up of natural trails and landscaped areas. It features 4 XCO training courses (green, blue, red and black) on the same site, with 10 jumps, 2 rock-garden zones, 1 mikado staircase, 1 dual slalom, 8 footbridges, wooden modules, banked bends, 250 m of natural pumptrack and a fun handling area. These courses are designed for high-level training.
Free and open all year round, this site is unique in the south of France !

Here you'll find bike washing stations, electric mountain bike recharging stations, Bike Parks, pump track and handling trails, and a unique Olympic XC stadium in Provence (free and open all year round). Our tourist offices can also provide you with information on our bike rental companies, mountain bike guides, “Accueil Vélo” label accommodation and all-inclusive touring holidays with luggage transport.
The different mountain bike routes are identified by numbers. They are classified by level of difficulty, identified by a color code. In the field, the routes are marked with specific mountain bike markers. Route numbers are indicated on the marker boards :
Please note : MTB routes 6 and 7 in the Val de Durance are equipped with retro-reflective markers for night-time use.
When mountain biking, you're sharing the countryside with other users, and you're riding in a sometimes fragile environment. So be courteous and respect nature !
