A two-day road cycling tour to leave the daily grind behind and treat yourself to a short getaway in Haute-Provence, exploring the landscapes of the Geopark. Tours depart from the tourist information office in Château-Arnoux, on dates of your choice, for groups of 2 to 20 people.

Day 1: Château-Arnoux => Digne-les-Bains
Distance: 80km
Positive altitude difference: 1135m – Negative altitude difference: 1030m
Departing from the tourist office in Château-Arnoux, between 9.00 am and 12.00 pm. A gentle start along peaceful back roads as you discover the Val de Durance’s best-kept secrets. From the very first few kilometres, let yourself be charmed by the villages of Aubignosc and Châteauneuf Val St Donat; further on, offer yourself a contemplative stop at the sublime 11th-century Saint-Donat Chapel, perched in its natural setting. Your sense of wonder will be heightened by the striking sight of the Pénitents des Mées, those legendary natural rocks formations. Then head uphill as you wind your way towards the charming hilltop village of Thoard, before beginning a gentle descent towards the town of Digne-les-Bains. The final stretch of your stage will take you along a small country road through unspoilt countryside to reach your accommodation (Golf Resort).

Day 2: Digne-les-Bains => Château-Arnoux

Elevation gain: 1210m – Elevation loss: 1310m
After your hearty breakfast, set off gently along a narrow road for the perfect warm-up against the backdrop of the irresistible scenery of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Very quickly, the tone is set: time to tackle the Col d’Espinouse! At the summit of this first challenge, the reward is well worth it, with a magnificent panoramic view across the entire region. Cross the Asse Valley before tackling a challenging climb with spectacular views: a living tableau blending fragrant lavender fields with the region’s major peaks. Take time to catch your breath in the hilltop village of Entrevennes, an ideal haven of peace to recharge your batteries. Then it’s on to the second major highlight: the Col de Puimichel, a breathtaking ride through the heart of unspoilt wilderness. The hard work finally gives way to a fast-paced descent towards the village of Malijai, before rounding off this journey in style at the tourist office in Château-Arnoux, where showers (bring your own towels) and bike washing facilities are provided free of charge.
